Khin Thandar Aung
Khin Thandar Aung graduated from the University of Nursing, Yangon, Myanmar, with a Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNSc) in 1998. She began her career as a staff nurse at a private medical center in Myanmar, later transitioning to a role as a clinical instructor/local preceptor at the Nursing Training School of Yangon General Hospital (YGH). In 2006, she earned her Master in Nursing Science (MNSc) from the University of Nursing, Yangon, specializing in gynecology-oncology.
She subsequently served as a lecturer at the University of Nursing, Mandalay, Myanmar, for 10 years, followed by two years as a clinical instructor at Asia Metropolitan University in Malaysia, where she also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Methodology (PGTM). Later, she joined the Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM, as a lecturer in the Medical-Surgical Nursing Department. In 2016, she achieved a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the United Kingdom. Currently, she is a lecturer in the Critical Care Nursing Department at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM.
Dr. Khin Thandar Aung is a respected academic and researcher who recently earned her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Education at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Her specialization focuses on instructional design in e-learning, a critical field in the digital age. At IIUM, her work emphasizes training the next generation of healthcare professionals, particularly in critical care, where her expertise is invaluable.
